Milani power Lip Review

Milani Power Lip claims to be long lasting and moisturizing.  I must admit, I had to roll my eyes at that. From my experience long lasting and moisturizing are not synonymous of each other. For that reason I tend to run the other way from the empty promise of long lasting lip products. Yet somehow, against my better judgment here we are.

There are 8 colors in the collection ranging from a deep purple to a pink-brown (shown below)
Creamy Cafe

The gloss comes up from the center of the brush by twisting beneath the cap.
The twist up brush makes precise application quick and easy.

While this looks quite brown it is more of a dusty pink in person.
 gloss feels creamy and luxurious.

After 3 hrs
A lot of the shine is gone, but my lips are left with a natural flush.

5hrs
Not as much color as before, yet it still doesn't look "faded".

 8hrs
The stain is pretty much gone at this point and my lips don't feel dry or chapped.

I am blown away. I still cannot believe this gloss stain lived up to its claim. I will be purchasing the rest of the collection.

Pros:
Long lasting stain
moisturizing
natural looking
wears evenly
easy brush applicator
not sticky or tacky
creamy
light weight
inexpensive

Cons:
gloss wears off quickly

IN LOVE

Jamberry Nails First Impressions

I love nail art, so when consultant Jamie offered the opportunity to try Jamberry Nail wraps, I couldn't refuse!

So what are Jamberry nail wraps?

Jamberry nail wraps are made of thin vinyl in the USA and are free from  harsh chemicals, like formaldehyde. They are scentless, and are not tested on animals.

Jamberry  is a direct sales company which means they are not found in stores and can only be ordered through independent sales consultants. The consultants host fun parties where they demo the products, teach their tips and tricks about application, and they even offer hostess rewards!

If parties are not your thing you can simply order your favorite designs here.

I am obsessed with this Vintage Chic Design!
While these were not perfectly applied, I must say I am impressed with how easy these went on especially for my first time!

Before applying I watched some youtube videos on best application.

I tried a "cold method" With this method you are able to place the wrap on your nail and sort of adjust it before it adheres. Once centered on the nail, use a cuticle stick and start smoothing it out staring from the bottom center. Make sure to apply pressure, and smooth out all the edges. Then take a heat source and heat the wraps. Directly after heating smooth the wraps out again applying pressure as you go.

View from the top
You can see the areas where I did not apply enough heat or pressure, and it rippled a little bit, but it is not noticeable from any other angles.

Over all it took 30 minutes to apply the wraps on both hands, which is less time than it would take me to complete a simple nail art design, plus there is no dry time!

It is too soon to form an opinion on these, so there will be more to come.

**I recieved my Jamberry nail wraps complimentary of Jamie , but don't worry my thoughts are my own!**

My recent Break ups! Products I Regret Buying.

As a make up addict, I can say I have my share of break ups. But with every break up, there is more make up around the corner. Here are some of the products I regret buying and what I prefer over them! This is a collaboration with the beautiful Jacki from Makeupateers, so be sure to visit her list of break-ups!

"CHUBBY STICKS"

Wet N Wild MegaSlicks Balm Stain
I was really excited for these to come out. I'm a sucker for the "chubby stick" packaging because they are so simple to use.  So why do they fall on the Break up list?
They are inexpensive, and feel like it.
Does not moisturize
no lasting power
doesn't stain lips like it claims
not a fan of the color options

Neutrogena Moisture Smooth Color Stick
I continue to repurchase these, they are my favorite "chubby stick" product.
moisturizing
smells like exotic fruit
soft wash of color, that can be built up
gorgeous color selection
lasts a few hours

FOUNDATION

 Marc Jacobs Genuis Gel
The genius gel was so hyped about and I saw such amazing results on people, but I was not impressed by any means. You can read my full review with demos and swatches here.
But here is why we went our separate ways:
perfume scent
 irritates my eyes
splotchy
transfers easily
wears off quickly
expensive

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation
I did a full on review of this foundation as well. We are in love.
light weight
full coverage
minimizes pores
natural finish
stays matte all day
blends seamlessly
Inexpensive
Tube packaging
mousse texture

LIQUID LINER
Jesses Girl Waterproof Liquid Liner
This liquid liner is very easy to apply, and has a lot of things going for it, but the cons completely negate the good for me. You can read more about this liner by clicking here.
It smudges
Its sticky
It doesn't last long
Rimmel Scandal Eyes Precision Micro Eyeliner
This liner is just a dream it does everything I want and lasts for ages!
highly pigmented
long lasting
easy to use
doesn't smudge
doesn't transfer
inexpensive

CONCEALER

Hard Candy Glamoflauge
I love to try new concealers, there are so many to choose from. I heard good things about glamoflauge, but I shouldn't have listened!
greasy
messy
smelly
sticky
doesn't blend

Bare Minerals Concealer
Ok, so I was skeptical about this at first, I couldn't imagine how a powder concealer could cover my blemishes, but glory to God it does!
lightweight
covers perfectly
no scent
contains SPF
easy to use
blend able

MASCARA

Maybelline the Falsies volume express
 clumps.
 flakes.
   smears.
 doesn't hold a curl
 doesn't Lengthen
 doesn't Volumize
 irritates my eyes

Too Faced Better than Sex
While better than sex is a bold claim, I almost have to agree.
Holds a curl
volumizes
lengthening
doesn't clump
doesn't flake
easy to get off at night
great pigmentation
stiff bristled hour glass brush design

EYE SHADOW PALETTES

Wet n Wild Fergie 5 pans
The colors in these sets are always so stunning in pan, but they fall short during application.
poor pigmentation
chalky
not bendable

Wet n Wild  Color Icon shadows
Same brand but completely different quality.
highly pigmented
inexpensive
bendable
great selection of colors (though I want more! )

LIP BUTTER/BALM

Fresh Sugar lip Treatments
I technically did not buy these, but I thought they deserved a mention since I dislike them so very much.
Pungent scent of lemons
doesn't moisturize
chaps my lips
expensive

Say yes to Carrots Lip Butter
I am a big fan if the Say Yes to brand altogether, but I have to say their lip butters are the absolute best I've ever tried.
SPF 15
smells yummy
moisturizes my lips
inexpensive
heals lips
works beyond the first layer of skin

Jesse's Girl Waterproof Liquid Liner

Tall, dark and well dressed, Jesse's Girl Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner Pen knows how to attract a lady!

The calligraphy point is firm but flexible which makes this liner a piece of cake to apply.
The cap clicks in place and is air tight, which means this baby will last a long time!

Directly after application
I love the pigmentation. It only took one swipe to create a fluid line.

After 1 hour:
Well, the honeymoon stage didn't last long.

After 8 hours
This is just gross.

At first I was extremely impressed by this. I swatched this liner on the back of my hand and was awed by how quickly it dries and didn't smudge at all when I rubbed it after drowning my hand in water. It was an hour after I applied it to my eyes that  I knew I was in trouble.

Pros:
calligraphy tip for precise lining
highly pigmented
sleek packaging
doesn't bleed
waterproof
sleek packaging
locking lid
No "skipping"

Cons:
smudges on me
becomes sticky after smudging
not long wearing for oily lids

I honestly think this would be a fantastic product for someone who doesn't have oily or hooded lids. But that is not me, so we are going to...

BREAK UP!
